Rome, GA – A judge says a fourth trial will begin this Fall in Alabama's long-running college desegregation case.
Alabama State University in Montgomery and Alabama A&M in Huntsville say problems include a lack of programs and facilities at their campuses and a low number of black students, faculty and administrators at the predominantly white schools.
Federal Judge Harold Murphy said Thursday he would soon issue a written order setting a trial date for September or October.
Robert Hunter is representing the state. He says the parties involved will try to resolve some matters before the trial.
