South Korea – Hyundai Motor Company has stopped exporting vehicles due to an ongoing strike by union auto workers in Korea. Workers at Hyundai have been on strike for parts of some work days since last month, seeking higher wages and better working conditions .. so far costing the company more than a billion dollars in lost production. But trade analysts say strikes are not unusual during summer in South Korea, when unions traditionally request pay and benefit increases. Hyundai's union has walked off the job every year but one since 1987. A partial strike was also launched by union workers at Hyundai affiliate Kia Motors on Tuesday.
