Montgomery, AL – Rewards of almost three (m) million dollars will be doled out to three-hundred and thirteen public schools for making improvements in student achievement. Governor Bob Riley and members of the state school board announced the rewards today. State school officials said student test data from the 2005-2006 school year were used to determine eligibility. The rewards, a combination of state and federal funding, range from 25-hundred to 46-thousand-500 dollars for each school. Selected schools are slated to receive the money after October first.
