Undated, AL – The candidates for governor spent the final day of the campaign flying across the state for last-minute public appearances aimed at getting out the vote Monday. Republican Governor Bob Riley was joined by other Republican candidates at every stop. Riley urged supporters to elect a Republican team that will help him implement his Plan 2010 campaign platform. Democratic Lieutenant Governor Lucy Baxley traveled without other Democratic candidates. She described the election as a David and Goliath contest. And she urged supporters not to believe polls showing her trailing Riley by more than 20 percentage points. Baxley will watch election returns Tuesday night at a meeting hall near the Capitol in downtown Montgomery. Riley will be at the Sheraton Civic Center in Birmingham.
