Flu Vaccines on Their Way

By Associated Press

Montgomery, AL – State health officials expect 100-thousand doses of flu vaccine will be available in Alabama on November 27th. Flu clinics in county health departments will be held the weeks of November 27th-December First; and December Fourth-through-Eighth. The Alabama Department of Public Health says flu outbreaks already have been reported in Mobile and Baldwin counties and southeast Alabama. Flu cases in the state usually peak in January and February, so being vaccinated in December is not too late for protection from it. State and federal health officials have designated November 27th-December Third as National Influenza Vaccination Week to increase awareness of flu prevention.
