Montgomery AL – State lawmakers in the Alabama House voted 103-0 Tuesday to ban the practice of transferring campaign donations from one political action committee to another. The House has voted to ban PAC to PAC transfers for the past six years, only to see the measure die in the Senate without coming up for consideration. Governor Bob Riley praised the House for passing the bill. However, Riley says he also wanted it to ban both PAC to PAC transfers and the practice of candidates transferring money from their campaign committees to another candidate. There are currently 650 PACs operating in Alabama.
