Mobile, AL – A damage assessment team says evidence showed it was an EF1 tornado that touched down late Monday afternoon in south Mobile County. The preliminary findings were issued today by the National Weather Service in Mobile.

Meteorologists, in a statement, said the tornado's track was 3-quarters of a mile long and 200 yard wide. Its path began near Irvington and ended near the Roy E. Ray Airport. Several homes and structures were damage. No one was injured.

According to the Fujita Scale, an E-F-One tornado can generate wind speeds of between 86 to 110 miles per hour.
