Montgomery AL – An analysis of Education Department data by Johns Hopkins University researchers for The Associated Press found 42 Alabama schools that failed to graduate more than 60 percent of its freshman class and were described as "dropout factories":

11. Birmingham City Woodlawn High School-Magnet
12. Bullock County Bullock County High School
13. Chambers County Lafayette High School
14. Conecuh County Hillcrest High School
