Sewage Spilled in South Alabama Creek

By Associated Press

Loxley, AL – The Baldwin County Health Department said Monday that sewage spilled into Blackwater Creek in Loxley after a sewage lift station failed the previous night.

The health department is urging people to be careful when using the creek for recreational purposes, especially when handling any fish or seafood caught in the area.

According to a health department statement, the lift station failure was caused by a lightning strike. But it did not report the amount of wastewater that spilled.
