New South Coalition Will Make Endorsement Saturday

By Associated Press

Montgomery, AL – The predominantly black Alabama New South Coalition will meet Saturday in Montgomery to make an endorsement for Alabama's presidential primary. State Senator Hank Sanders, who's a founder of the coalition, says the endorsement is wide open.

Coalition President Robert Avery agrees. He says the winner Saturday will get a significant boost for Alabama's primary on February 5 because the coalition has a history of working hard for candidates it supports.

Alabama's other major black political group, the Alabama Democratic Conference, endorsed New York Senator Hillary Clinton in October.
