Alabama – Record highs broken across state
Alabama's unseasonably warm weather shattered record highs across the state over the weekend and again yesterday.
The National Weather Service said record highs, ranging from the upper 70's to low 80's, were set in Huntsville, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery, Anniston, Muscle Shoals and Pinson.
Some of the records go back more than 50 years. But stay tuned, another day of warm weather is expected today.
The higher temperatures are due to a southerly flow around an area of high pressure to the east that kept cold air north of Alabama.
Don't put away those coats and jackets. Most of Alabama is expected to return to seasonal temperatures toward the end of the week, meaning colder days and nights.
