Washington, DC – Alabama Congressman Bud Cramer says federal agriculture officials soon will dole out $320,000 in drought relief aid to farmers in six counties in north Alabama.
The Huntsville Democrat said in a statement Wednesday the funding will come from the Farm Service Agency's Emergency Conservation Program.
Some experts believe the state is in the midst of a multiyear drought that began two years ago.
Cramer said farmers can contact their local FSA office for additional information and eligibility requirements.
