High Winds Uproot Trees, Power Lines Across Alabama

Alabama – High winds left minor damage in dozens of Alabama counties overnight as a storm system passed through the state. The National Weather Service reports trees were uprooted and sporadic power outages also were reported.

A look at preliminary storm reports finds wind damages occurred in Colbert, Cullman, Blount, Dallas, DeKalb, Franklin, Etowah, Lauderdale, Jefferson, Lamar, Lowndes, Limestone, Marshall, Madison, Morgan, Shelby, Tallapoosa and Tuscaloosa counties.

Authorities said two people were injured when their vehicle ran into trees down on Highway 39 near Chelsea.
