Montgomery, AL – A tanker-truck rollover is causing traffic on northbound Interstate 85 near the Shorter exit to be re-routed during the evening rush hour.
Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Dorris Teague said an 18-wheeler rolled over around 3 p.m. near exit 22 leading to Shorter.
Teague said traffic is being re-routed at exit 16 onto Highway 80 and then to Macon County highway 40 and back onto I-85 at exit 26.
The truck was carrying an estimated 4,400 gallons of gasoline. It isn't immediately known how much spilled.
The Alabama Department of Environmental Management, a HazMat team and other agencies were on hand for cleanup. Sand is being delivered from Tuskegee to help cleanup.
It is not immediately clear if there were any injuries.
