Governor to Tour Storm-Damaged Areas in Prattville

Prattville, AL – Alabama Gov. Bob Riley will visit areas in Prattville damaged by a tornado that hit the area causing significant damage to many homes and businesses.

Riley and other state and local officials will hold a briefing for news reporters Monday afternoon and then tour areas of Prattville, where at least 29 people were injured in Sunday's storm. No deaths were reported.

Mayor Jim Byard said emergency crews went door-to-door Sunday in a search for any storm victims trapped in the wreckage. Some 9,000 homes and businesses were without power following the storm.

The city was under a curfew Sunday night.
