Montgomery, AL – Four present and former legislators who work for the state two-year college system have been subpoenaed in the federal government's probe of corruption in the system.
Don Edwards, vice chancellor for operations and planning, said the Department of Postsecondary Education received subpoenas Wednesday and Thursday for Rep. Blaine Galliher of Gadsden, Rep. Jack Page of Gadsden, Rep. Randy Hinshaw of Madison, and former Rep. Neal Morrison of Cullman to talk to federal investigators.
Postsecondary Chancellor Bradley Byrne said the department has an agreement with federal prosecutors in Birmingham for subpoenas to be sent to the department, and then the department delivers them. He said the agreement was in existence before his selection as chancellor last year.
