Montgomery, AL – Opening statements are set for Tuesday in the trial of two pharmaceutical companies accused by Alabama of overcharging the state's Medicaid program.
It's the second trial in the state's litigation against 70 drug companies.
Attorneys spent much of Monday questioning potential jurors in the trial involving Novartis Pharmaceuticals and SmithKline Beecham Corp.
Circuit Judge Charles Price said the final jury would be selected Tuesday morning.
Attorneys will then give opening statements in the trial that is expected to last for up to two weeks.
In the first trial in February, a state court jury awarded the state $215 million in its Medicaid drug price fraud case against AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP.
