Birmingham, AL – The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute is revealing plans for the first renovations to the museum's permanent exhibits in its 15-year history.
The changes will include a redesign of the human rights exhibit and an update to the civil rights exhibit. The institute in downtown Birmingham plans to remain open during the renovations.
Angela Fisher Hall, vice president of publications for the institute, said the renovations will begin in September and are scheduled to be completed by the institute's 16th anniversary in November.
Illustrations of the plans were to be presented to the board during a reception Tuesday.
