271 Nabbed in Fugitive Roundup

By Associated Press

Birmingham, AL – U.S. Marshals teamed up state and local law enforcement agencies to round up 271 fugitives who were wanted in north Alabama on various federal charges.

"Operation Falcon", as it was called, involved a weeklong dragnet for individuals wanted for offenses ranging from theft to homicide.

Marty Keely, the U.S Marshal for Alabama's Northern District, said Wednesday that 450 felony warrants were cleared with the arrests.

The operation covered 31 Alabama counties.
