Montgomery, AL – A former member of Gov. Bob Riley's Cabinet has agreed to play a major role in Tim James' campaign for governor in 2010.
James says Montgomery timber executive Guice Slawson Sr. will be his finance chairman.
Slawson is president of Southeast Wood Treating. He says he shares James' conservative principles and his vision for making Alabama a better place to live and work.
Slawson served as administrator of the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board in 2003, but he left Riley's Cabinet when the governor tried to raise $1.2 billion in taxes.
Slawson was a major contributor to Judge Roy Moore's campaign for governor in 2006.
