Montgomery, AL – The Republican runoff for the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals isn't drawing many campaign contributions.
Montgomery attorney Beth Kellum filed a campaign finance report Thursday showing she had lent another $50,000 to her campaign. That brought her personal loans to $119,500. She has reported receiving $3,900 in contributions and nearly $6,900 in advertising provided by Tuscaloosa businessman Stan Pate.
Kellum says she has been financing her campaign because a seat came open late and there was not enough time for fundraising.
Her opponent, former Montgomery County District Judge Lucie McLemore, reported that she has not raised or spent $25,000. That's the threshold where candidates have to start filing campaign finance reports.
Kellum and McLemore face off in the Republican runoff Tuesday.
