Drought Status Worsens

By Associated Press

Birmingham, AL – Alabama's drought status has not improve, in fact, its getting worse.

According to the U.S. Drought Monitor Survey, only six percent of the state is not being affected by some stage of drought.

The worst areas are across northeast Alabama where D-2 or severe drought conditions exist over 36 percent of the state. That's an estimated 8 percent increase from last week.
