Daphne, AL – About 100 people heard former President Bill Clinton at a $1,000-a-person fundraiser in Daphne to help pay off Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign debt.
Bill Clinton arrived at the Daphne home of longtime friends Pat and Robert Edington around 8 p.m. Thursday.
''He greeted all our neighbors who were standing out in their yards waiting to see him,'' Robert Edington said. ''He even patted a dog.''
The Press-Register reported that Clinton briefly addressed the donors about the current financial crisis, saying Congress needed to take action.
Hillary Clinton attended a luncheon fundraiser at the Edington home in May 2007 during her campaign. Clinton's debt is estimated to be around $23 million, about half of which she loaned to her campaign.
