AG King to Protest Killer's Release

By Associated Press

Montgomery, AL – Alabama Attorney General Troy King said he will fight the possible parole of a man convicted of murdering an innocent bystander in Montgomery 16 years ago.

The parole board will hold a hearing Tuesday to hear Willie Tyrone Jackson's bid for early release from prison.

Jackson, according to court records, shot and killed Alisa Roberts as she was leaving work at a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant on June 26, 1992. Jackson was sentenced to life in prison.

King said Jackson "should serve everyday of his sentence."

The state Board of Pardons and Paroles meets at 9 a.m. in Montgomery.
