Ala. Board Rejects Inmate's Request For Parole

Montgomery, AL – A convicted murderer will remain in an Alabama prison.

The three-member state Board of Pardons and Paroles Tuesday rejected Willie Tyrone Jackson's bid for an early release.

Jackson is serving a life prison sentence for the June 1992 slaying of a Montgomery restaurant worker. Court records showed Alisa Roberts was an innocent bystander when she was shot in the parking lot of Chuck E. Cheese restaurant.

Attorney General Troy King attended the hearing and urged the panel to turn down Jackson's request.

Jackson won't be eligible for another parole hearing until 2013.
