Birmingham, AL – Alabama state troopers are preparing to launch another statewide traffic blitz. The week-long initiative starts Wednesday.
Troopers, joined by county and municipal police departments, will focus on impaired drivers.
It part of the Department of Public Safety's ``Take Back Our Highways'' program. It would mark the 4th such campaign this year.
Troopers will use nine mobile DUI-testing labs called Batmobiles at various checkpoints.
The crackdown runs through Nov. 26.
Public Safety officials said a 5th statewide traffic crackdown will begin Dec. 17 and end on Christmas Eve.
