Riley Among Governors Set To Meet Obama

Montgomery, AL – Alabama Gov. Bob Riley is among a bipartisan group of governors scheduled to meet with President-elect Barack Obama to discuss ways to stimulate the struggling economy.

Riley is among about 40 governors and governors-elect who will meet with Obama Tuesday at Independence Hall in Philadelphia. The meeting was arranged by the National Governors Association.

Riley says one topic the governors will discuss is Medicaid and changes in federal rules that could cut the federal reimbursements that Alabama hospitals receive for treating the state's poorest citizens.

Riley says the governors will also talk to the president-elect about the best ways to speed economic recovery.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the former Republican candidate for vice president, is also expected to attend the meeting.
