AG's Investigator Resigns After DUI Arrest

By Associated Press

Montgomery, AL – The chief investigator for the Alabama Attorney General's Office resigned Monday following his arrest for drunken driving.

A state trooper arrested Chris Browning on Saturday night in Elmore County on a charge of driving under the influence.

Attorney General Troy King said he accepted the resignation Monday. He said Browning regrets making a terrible decision, but all actions have consequences.

Browning is the former police chief in Fairhope. He had been chief of the attorney general's investigations division since January 2007.
