Ala. Court Won't Restrain Lawyer Ads

Montgomery, AL – The Alabama Supreme Court has declined to place restrictions on lawyers' ads.

The state Board of Bar Commissioners had asked the Supreme Court to ban paid actors, jingles and wreck videos in an effort to make lawyers' TV and radio ads more dignified. The bar was notified Monday that court declined to adopt the proposed changes. The court did not give an explanation for its decision.

This marks the second time the Supreme Court has declined to adopt rules proposed by the State Board of Bar Commissioners to tone down lawyers' ads.
