Montgomery, AL – Lab workers at the Alabama Department of Public Health are testing nine samples from around the state for possible swine flu.
State Health Officer Donald Williamson said preliminary results from the tests are expected by Wednesday. Any samples the state suspects to be swine flu will then be sent to the Centers for Disease Control for final confirmation.
Williamson said Tuesday that the health department will be having daily briefings at 11 a.m. to inform the public about any developments about swine flu.
There have been no cases reported in Alabama so far.
