Ala. Chancellor Upset By Junior College Study

Montgomery, AL – The state's two-year college chancellor, Bradley Byrne, is upset about the Legislature creating a committee to study the junior college system.

The House passed a resolution Thursday to set up the Joint Interim Study Committee to Assess the Two-Year College System. The Senate approved the resolution 13-12 on Friday.

The resolution was pushed by the Alabama Education Association, which represents many of the employees in two-year colleges.

Byrne called the study a smoke screen fanned by foes of changes he has made during his two years as chancellor.
