Montgomery, AL – The Alabama Legislature's final meeting day is unusual because there is no state budget to finish.
The House and Senate wrapped up work on the state General Fund budget on Thursday by rejecting the governor's recommended changes to the budget. The education budget was approved earlier and has been signed by the governor.
The Senate meets at 9 a.m. Friday and the House at 10 a.m. for the last day of the 2009 regular session. The session started in early February.
