Love To Run For Re-Election To Ala. House

Montgomery, AL – State Rep. Jay Love says he will run for re-election to his seat in the Alabama House in 2010 rather than seeking a seat in Congress.

Love is a Republican from Montgomery. He had said he was considering a run for the Republican nomination for the 2nd District Congressional seat held by Democratic U.S. Rep. Bobby Bright of Montgomery. Love won the Republican nomination for that Congressional seat last year and lost to Bright in the general election.

Love said he wants to continue to serve in the Alabama House. He said he believes Republicans have a chance to win control of the House in 2010.

Montgomery City Councilwoman Martha Roby has said she plans to seek the Republican nomination for the 2nd District seat in the U.S. House.
