Ivey Kicks Off Gubernatorial Run

By Associated Press

Montgomery, AL – State Treasurer Kay Ivey is kicking off her Republican campaign for governor with four appearances across the state.

Ivey starts Wednesday morning on the Capitol lawn in Montgomery. A campaign spokesman says that will be followed by stops in Birmingham, Huntsville and Spanish Fort.

Ivey joins four Republicans who have already announced for the primary election in June 2010: Greenville businessman Tim James, former Chief Justice Roy Moore, former two-year college Chancellor Bradley Byrne, and state Rep. Robert Bentley of Tuscaloosa.
