Montgomery, AL – There's some bright news for Alabama's automotive industry.
Officials say more than 3,000 employees at the Hyundai plant near Montgomery are returning to a full work schedule in July after months of reductions.
The company is exporting record numbers of vehicles, and a slowdown in production has created the need for new vehicles to boost inventory.
Sales are still below 2008 levels. But plant spokesman Robert Burns said domestic sales have exceeded production for four straight months and seven of the last eight months.
Burns said production decisions in the future will be announced in monthly employee meetings.
