Judge Orders Walker County Bingo Hall Shuttered

By Associated Press

Birmingham, AL – A Jefferson County Circuit Court judge has ordered a Walker County bingo hall to close immediately after ruling its operation had not complied with county law.

Judge Robert Vance issued the order Monday against Helping Hands Charity Bingo following a hearing last week. Vance has been assigned several bingo cases, including Walker County cases and one from Lowndes County.

Annette Graveman, an official with Helping Hands, said the hall had shut down after getting the judge's order late Monday morning. She said a few hours before that, some of the vendors had removed their electronic bingo machines from the building.
