Montgomery, AL – An organization of Alabama doctors has sent a letter to leaders in Congress opposing a proposed health care reform bill in the U.S. House.
The president of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, Dr. Jorge Alsip of Mobile, said the bill being considered in the House would not cure the problems of the U.S. health care system.
The letter says the proposed plan is inconsistent with the atmosphere needed to provide quality medical care.
The American Medical Association has endorsed the House bill. Alsip said the Alabama doctors disagree on this issue but are not splitting from the AMA.
