GOP Legislators Want To Delay Meeting On Jefferson County's Woes

Birmingham, AL – There's been a setback in efforts to find a solution to Jefferson County's financial problems.

Several Republican legislators say a meeting Monday of all Jefferson County legislators should be delayed until the Republican lawmakers get financial information they have requested from the County Commission. The meeting is to see if legislators can come up with a consensus to propose in a special session of the Legislature.

Republican Sen. Jabo Waggoner of Vestavia Hills says Republican members of the Jefferson County legislative delegation believe they can't act responsibility until they receive the financial records they have requested.
