Montgomery, AL – William Harris has become the president of Alabama State University after serving as interim president.
The chairman of Alabama State's presidential search committee, Marvin Wiggins, said the trustees voted unanimously Saturday to make Harris president.
Wiggins said the board also agreed to a three-year contract that will pay Harris about $200,000 annually.
Harris had been interim president since last July. He previously served as Alabama State's president from 1994 to 2000.
