Alabama Public Radio Goes To Camp Seale Harris

Tuscaloosa, AL – The State Department of Public Health says ten percent of Alabama's diabetics have Type 1. Whereas Type 2 diabetics produce insulin and aren't able to utilize it properly, a Type 1 diabetics pancreas does not make insulin at all. This disease can be hard to deal with physically and emotionally, and there is no cure. However, there is a place, right here in Alabama, where healing begins. APR's Susan Jones has the story.
