Montgomery, AL – Candidates for governor and other state offices in 2010 were required to stop raising campaign money Monday because of the special session of the Alabama Legislature on Jefferson County's financial problems.
Most of the six Republicans and two Democrats seeking Alabama's governor's office put notes up on their Web sites saying they could not take contributions or had removed fundraising links from their sites Monday. But at least two candidates continued to ask for donations on their campaign Web sites at least for a time on Monday.
Democratic candidate U.S. Rep. Artur Davis took down the fundraising page on his Web site Monday afternoon. Republican candidate Roy Moore's fund raising page was still on his Web site Monday afternoon.
