Marion, AL – Alabama State Troopers say eight people have been arrested and four injured in what's being described as a full-scale riot in the town of Marion.
A long-running feud between two families erupted into violence Monday morning, when a fight broke out at a high school in Marion. Two people were arrested there.
State Trooper spokesman John Reese said six more people were arrested when a disturbance broke out later at Marion City Hall. He estimates about 150 people were involved either as participants or bystanders.
Reese says four people were hurt, but none of the injuries were life-threatening.
Law officers from throughout west Alabama were called in, and some plan to remain overnight to maintain calm.
