Former Greene Commissioner Running For Ala. PSC

Eutaw, AL – Former Greene County Commission Chairman Chris ``Chip'' Beeker has decided to run as a Republican for the Public Service Commission position held by Democrat Jan Cook.

Beeker spent 20 years on the county commission, with the last 10 years as chairman. He also operates a catfish and cattle farm in Eutaw.

Beeker said Wednesday that if he's elected next year, he will hold utilities accountable for providing attractive rates that benefit households and stimulate economic growth.

Beeker is the first Republican to announce his candidacy against Cook, who is running for re-election.
