Troopers Issue 1,200 Tickets in Tuscaloosa

By Associated Press

Tuscaloosa, AL – Alabama state troopers wrote more than 1,200 tickets during the first three days of a special traffic detail in Tuscaloosa that's aimed at cutting down on wrecks and fatalities.

Trooper John Reese said 16 motorcycle officers are spending the week in Tuscaloosa, focusing on major roadways. Most of the troopers' tickets have been for speeding and not wearing seat belts.

The troopers have conducted similar traffic details in Decatur, Huntsville, Mobile and Gadsden.
