Political Newcomer Announces For Ala. PSC

Montgomery, AL – Another Republican candidate has entered the race for the Public Service Commission seat held by Democrat Jan Cook.

Stephen Evans of Dothan announced his candidacy Monday. Evans is a 25-year-old retirement plan adviser who's making his first race for public office. Another Republican, former Greene County Commission Chairman Chris ``Chip'' Beeker, announced last week.

Evans says that if he's elected, he will hold town hall meetings throughout the state to hear from consumers. He also says he will push the PSC to do more to educate consumers about how to save on their utility bills.
