Ex-Mexican Leader Fox Lauds Ala. Campus Exchange

Montgomery, AL – Former Mexican President Vicente Fox has joined University of West Alabama officials in announcing a partnership with a university in Mexico.

At a news conference in Montgomery on Thursday, Fox praised the collaboration between UWA and the Universidad de Leon, which is in his home state.

The partnership will provide opportunities for study abroad, cultural exchanges, research, internships and dual degree programs.

On Friday, Fox will deliver the keynote address at a meeting of the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture. That speech also is in the Alabama capital.

Fox was elected president of Mexico in 2000 and served through 2006.
