Montgomery, AL – Trey Glenn has resigned as the director of the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.
The ADEM board accepted his resignation at its meeting in Montgomery Friday. Glenn said he wants to pursue other opportunities but did not give specifics.
ADEM attorney John Hagood will serve as interim director while a search is begun for a permanent replacement.
Glenn was hired in January 2005 to lead the environmental watchdog agency. He previously had been Alabama's negotiator in the water sharing dispute with Georgia and Florida.
