Riley Plans Economic Development Trip To Pasadena

Montgomery, AL – Gov. Bob Riley, industrial recruiters and corporate executives are taking a four-day trip to Pasadena for the BCS National Championship Game between Alabama and Texas.

The goal: bring new business to Alabama along with a national crown. Riley's press secretary, Jeff Emerson, said Monday the Alabama Development Office has budgeted $50,000 to meet with business executives in California in hopes of luring new business to the state.

Emerson said the expenses for the trip will be paid by Alabama companies such as Alabama Power, as well as local chambers of commerce and other organizations involved in economic development.

Emerson said Riley and the other officials would be in Pasadena from Tuesday to Friday.
