Huntsville, AL – A Toyota engine plant in Huntsville is among those affected by the Japanese automaker's recall and suspension of U.S. sales to fix faulty gas pedals.
The plant in Huntsville has about 300 workers who build V8 engines.
Toyota spokesman Mike Goss said most workers at affected plants are expected to be at their jobs during the assembly line shutdown announced Tuesday.
He said they will receive additional training, or work on improvements to their assembly processes. He said they can also take vacation or unpaid leave.
