Montgomery, AL – The Alabama Senate has passed legislation requiring state contractors who receive no-bid contracts to disclose all subcontractors doing more than $7,500 of work.
The bill's sponsor, Democratic Sen. Quinton Ross of Montgomery, guided it through the Senate on Thursday. The bill now goes to the House for consideration.
Ross said the bill will bring more disclosure to the state bid process and expose fake companies that are relying primarily on subcontractors to do the work.
